The State of Florida has established a set of schedules which establish minimum retention requirements for record series common to all agencies or specified types of agencies based on the legal, fiscal, administrative, and historical value of those record series to the agencies and to the State of Florida.
Florida State University is authorized to use two of the published schedules:
General Schedule 1 - SL State and Local Government Agencies contains business functions that are common to most state agencies. This includes, but is not limited to, financial transactions, pay and attendance items, correspondence, and Human Resources documents. (spreadsheet format)
General Schedule 5 - Universities and Community Colleges contains items that are specific to universities and colleges. This includes, but is not limited to, admissions documents, financial aid and scholarship documents, and course information. (spreadsheet format)
